Process
AFC GTI Energy’s U-GAS® technology enables large-scale production of renewable fertilizers from waste-stream feedstocks.
The gasification process operates at high efficiency with low emissions to convert a wide variety of feedstocks into syngas, which can then be used as a building block to produce nitrogenous fertilizer. Over 25 different feedstocks from around the world have been tested, including plastic waste, tyres, coal waste and various forms of biomass such as municipal waste, biomass and paper pulp mill residues.
U-GAS® has been commercially deployed and operated for 30+ years in multiple facilities internationally.
